A typical initial visit lasts from 90 minutes. Return visits last 45-60 minutes. During this time an in depth interview will be conducted in order to gather information regarding the chief complaint and other medical history. An exam will also be conducted which involves observing the tongue, palpating the pulse.. After this a treatment will be given that may include any of the modalities listed here. Treatments are most often conducted once per week and sometimes twice a week for the first 4-8 weeks. A re-evaluation will then be done and treatments will then be spaced farther apart. Once the condition has been treated, maintenance visits are conducted once per month, at the change of the seasons, or when patients feel they need a “tune up”.
